Teens may audition for dancing ensemble in The Wedding Singer and State Fair. Teens may also sign up for our Deckhand Program during auditions. See below for dates and more information. All participants must be fully vaccinated in order to work with our union performers.

We appreciate your patience, as our response time may not be immediate. We will confirm a time and include audition instructions. If you are unable to attend, we will accept video auditions. Email for more information. Audition location: conference center at Quality Inn & Suites, 2300
Lincoln Way in Clinton.

Adults

We will be auditioning for the following roles:
Sister Act First rehearsal: May 22, 2022; Performs: June 2-June 12, 2022
Sister Mary Martin-of-tours (40s-70s). A nun of the convent. Clearly in her own world, but has her moments of surprising clarity. Strong singer.
Sister Mary Theresa (60s-70s). A nun of the convent. The oldest of the group. Decrepit at a glance, but secretly packs a punch. Strong singer.
Monsignor O’Hara (40s-70s).
Pastor of the parish. Constantly concerned with financial matters, though soul music surprisingly puts him in a different mood. Must carry a tune.

Calendar Girls  First rehearsal: June 4, 2022; Performs: June 16-June 26, 2022
John (40s-60).  John, is a human sunflower. Not a saint. Not a hero. Just the kind of man you’d want in your car when crossing America. When he dies it feels like someone somewhere turned a light off. (No nudity)
Rod (late 40s-60s). You have to be a certain kind of guy to stick with Rod's wife, Chris, and Rod loves it. He can give back what he gets, and has a deadpan humor which has always made Chris laugh. He drinks a lot but never so much as to have a problem. He would work every hour to make his shop a success.  (No nudity)
Cora (40-60)). Cora’s horizons were broadened by having gone to college. She came back to pregnant and tail-between-legs, but Cora has too much native resilience to be downtrodden. She is the joker in the pack, but never plays the fool. Her wit is deadpan. Cora sings and plays the piano. (Partial or suggested nudity required)
Jessie (late 60s/70s).
Get on the right side of Jessie as a teacher and she’ll be the teacher you remember for life. Get on the wrong side and you will regret every waking hour. A lover of life, Jessie doesn’t bother with cosmetics — her elixir of life is bravery. Jessie goes on rollercoasters. Her husband has been with her a long time and is rarely surprised by her actions. (Partial or suggested nudity required)

Celia (30s-50). A woman more at home in a department store than a church hall, she always feels like she’s drifted in from another world. Which she has. There is a rebelliousness in Celia. It’s what sets Celia apart from the vapid materialism of her peer group. (Partial or suggested nudity required)
Ruth (40-60s). Ruth’s journey is from the false self-confidence of the emotionally abused to the genuine self confidence of the woman happy in her own skin. Eager to please but not a rag doll, and despite being Marie’s right-hand woman she is desperate to keep everyone happy. (Partial or suggested nudity required)
Marie (late 40s-60s). Marie has gradually built the current ‘Marie’ around herself over the years as a defense mechanism. The women’s club is a trophy to her, which justifies her entire existence. (No nudity)

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s State Fair First rehearsal: June 17, 2022; Performs: June 30-July 17, 2022.
Casting ensemble and small feature roles.

Ages 9+ and Teen

We will be casting a limited number of young people and teens with some dance experience for the ensembles of:

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s State Fair  First rehearsal: June 17, 2022; Performs: June 30-July 17, 2022.

The Wedding Singer  First rehearsal: July 8, 2022; Performs: July 21-July 31, 2022
Parents should note that The Wedding Singer contains language and suggestive comedic situations that would be considered PG-13. Visit our Shows page for a full description.

Deckhand Program for Teens

Our Deckhand Company includes teens from the region with an interest in any aspect of theatre. In 2022 we will have 2 sessions, and teens may join for one or both. The Deckhands present our theatre for young audiences shows, and all members of the Deckhand Company will participate onstage or backstage. MORE INFO HERE.
They will also be offered the opportunity to help with our MainStage season and take part in classes taught by our professional company.
This year's shows will be the stage adaptations of the popular children's books: Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus and Dragons Love Tacos. Auditions are not required to join the Deckhands, but auditions will be required to be part of the cast of either Deckhand production. REGISTER FOR THE DECKHANDS HERE. If you are interested in joining now, you may sign up for the March auditions. Additional Deckhand auditions will take place virtually.
